Mathew Zefeldt

Su trabajo utiliza imaginería representacional como un elemento dentro de una composición mayor. No se trata necesariamente de lo que la imagen repetida representa, sino de la interacción y relación entre las partes del todo, para así reflejar el paisaje plural en el que nos encontramos hoy en día. Zefeldt usa imágenes cotidianas, reproduciéndolas de manera sistemática y casi inerte. Su estética digital aborda múltiples lenguajes visuales y los conjunta en un sólo plano para crear una superposición de estilos y gestos que remiten a la naturaleza fragmentada y heterogénea de la realidad contemporánea.

Mathew Zefeldt es profesor adjunto de pintura y dibujo en la Universidad de Minnesota, EE. UU.. Fue uno de los dos destinatarios nacionales de la Beca Dedalus MFA en 2011, y su obra ha sido publicada en la revista New American Paintings.
